The delegation of the European Commission in China and the Program of Conservation of the EU-China Biodiversity (ECBP) organized a "Evening of Biodiversity" Thursday in Beijing to throw a book on the biologic diversity in China.
Book "Green Chinese Gold" contains 500 pictures on the conditions of life of wild animals and plants and bill of the economic importance of the biodiversity protection.
Serge Abou, ambassador of the Delegation of the European Commission in China, indicated that China had known a deterioration of his environment and could learn the experience of Europe, that also disregarded a few years ago the protection of biodiversity.
"The conservation of biodiversity constitutes a fundamental part of the development", it has said. "The exceptional biodiversity of China makes it even more applicable."
"The possibility for China to save his rare species and their natural habitats depend on the public awareness of their protection and his resolution to act", according to John Mackinnon, co-author of the book and director of the ECBP.
