The population of Shanghai on the increase of 121 800 in 2008
Shanghai, the more populated biggest city and financial center of China, knew a rise of 0.9% of population in 2008 in spite of a number of more important one than the death of births during the last 16 years, according to a survey published Friday.
There were 107 000 deaths and 96 700 births last year. The people written down in 2007 was of 13.71 million of people, on the increase of 121 800. The rise is bound to the growth of the number of the migrants recorded, according to a demographic investigation in 2008 for Shanghai.
It is not easy for the migrants get used to register in Shanghai. The admission to the university and the marriage with someone already enregisté the two means is the more frequently.
The number of death passed the one of the births in 1993 in Shanghai. It is also the end of the baby-boom for the city and the entry in one period of aging of the population, according to a civil servant of the Office of Statistics of Shanghai.
The migrating population of the city increased 182 000 in 2008.
In Shanghai, there are 18.88 million of permanent residents, of which 6.42 millions of migrants, according to this investigation.
