The National Office of Statistics has just published a new state of the continental population of China founded on an investigation by poll.
According to this publication, the urban population would have in 2008 reached 606,670,000 inhabitants, on the increase of 12,880,000 on 2007, and the farming population 721,350,000 inhabitants, decreasing of 6,150,000 on 2007. The addition of the urban and farming data gives a total of 1,328,020,000 inhabitants, on the increase of 6.73 million on 2007.
According to these numbers, the urban population continues to grow, but less quickly than between 1995 and 2003. She represented 29.4% of the total in 1995, and 40.5% in 2003, the numbers carry this part above to 45.7%.
