A Place Mao Zedong was open to the visitors Thursday in the Hunan province of the (center-south), native country of Mao, to celebrate his 115th birthday.

This place is located next to Mao's birth place - the village of Shaoshan, to 104 km of Changsha, capital of the province. On the site of a surface of more than 10 hectares, of a bronze statue of a height of 10, 1 meters have been erected.

"The completion of the construction of the place is a beautiful gift offered by the whole nation for the 115th birthday of Chairman Mao. He also expresses the respect, the admiration and the eternal memory of the people of the Hunan towards Chairman Mao" , Declared Zhang Chunxian, secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for the Hunan, at the time of the ceremony of inauguration.

The place, whose construction began July 3, 2008, cost of 66 million yuan (9.7 million of dollars). She  has been arranged on the site of the former "Place of the bronze statue of Mao Zedong of Friend."

The new place, bigger than the old, is composed of the former residence of Chairman Mao Zedong, a memorial, a bookstore, a school and other historic sites.

Mao Zedong is born December 26, 1893 and death September 9, 1976.

Every year, the millions of Chinese and foreign tourists visit the village of Shaoshan.
