1.6 billion of dollars destined to the victims of the earthquake of May 12 in 2008
In 2008, the Chinese central government distributed more of 10.7 trillion yuan (about 1.6 billion of dollars) of financial help to the victims of the violent earthquake of May 12, and came in to help close to 10 million people, one has learned Sunday in Beijing of the Chinese Ministry of Ministry of Finance.
Helps these have been distributed from June 2008 and during six months, to the provinces of the Sichuan Gansus, Shaanxi and Yunnan and in Chongqing.
About 8.9 million yuan have been poured to those that lost their house, their means of production, as their earth, and their incomes or wages. The daily standard of help was 10 yuan, 500 more grams of food products.
Otherwise, the orphans, the aged and disabled people not having any living parents got 600 yuan per month.
In order to guarantee to the disaster victims a comfortable life this winter, the government also provided a special help of of 625 million yuan (about 92 million dollars).
