The first operational Chinese solar power station has been joined Friday to the network of general distribution of electricity.
This power station has been constructed in Wuwei, in the desert of the Tengger in the province of Gansu (Oord-west).
Of a capacity of 1 megawatt installed, the power station has been developed by Dyed it Datang Corporation, the second society more important producer of energy in China.
The part taken in service Friday will produce 870 000 kwh.
The whole power station should be operational at the end of next year, Jiang indicated Pingsuo, the engineer in chief of the subsidiary of Datang in the Gansu.
The city of Wuwei has 46.6% of soil under his jurisdiction that is desert. This sorry place benefits from 2 210 hours of sun per year able to be used to produce electricity. It means that a power station of 1 megawatt can produce 1.4 million of kwh, underline the engineer in chief.
According to him, setting in the exploitation of this solar power station is a technological breakthrough of China in the exploitation of the solar energy in the desert regions.
