The United States and China committed Wednesday to conjugate their efforts to fight against protectionism in the international commercial exchanges unsettled by the double world financial and economic crisis.

For Mr. Geithner, Washington attaches a big importance to his relations with China. In the context of the financial crisis, the American complicates cooperation is essential to restore the confidence of the international community and to help to straighten the world economy, Mr. Geithner said.

The United States wish to reinforce the coordination in the macro-economic policies and cooperation in the sector of the finance with China through the proposed mechanism of dialogue and cooperation, Mr. Geithner added.
