the imports and exports of copper decreased in 2008
The imports and exports of copper of China decreased 4.3% on one year in 2008, to settle to 3257 million tons, because of the weakening of the demand so much that outside interior, caused by the world financial crisis, the general declared Saturday administration of the customs.
Includes the total of 2637 million tons in imports, decreasing of 5.1%, and 620 000 tons in exports, decreasing of 0.8%.
The enterprises to foreign funds counted for 54% of the total, or 1759 million of tones, either a decrease of 7.8%. Their imports and exports were respectively of 1398 millions of tone, decreasing of 9.5%, and 361 000 tons, decreasing of 0.6%.
The main suppliers of the continental part of China were Chile, the insular province of Taiwan, Japan and Republic of Korea, and the main destinations of the exports were Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, the United States, the European Union and the members of the ASEAN (Association of the nations of the Southeast of Asia).
