the growth of the exports and imports of hi-tech products slow down in 2008
The outside of the Chinese trade of new technology products reached 754.8 billions of dollars in 2008, the increase of 8.6% in relation to the previous year, declared Saturday the general administration of the customs.
The growth rate was of 12.6 percentage points of lower to the one of the previous year.
The value of the imports, to 339.2 billions of dollars of 3.5% progressed, and the value of the exports, with 415.6 billions of dollars of improved 13.1%. The growth rates were respectively of 13.9 and 11.7 percentage points of lower to the previous year.
The main imports were the fleas of integrated circuit, the billposters to liquid crystals, the planes, the spare parts of the facilities of telecommunications and the machinery of transformation of metals. The main exports were the facilities and the pieces of automatic treatment of the data, the cordless telephones, the fleas of integrated circuit, the billposters to liquid crystals, the televisions and the video tape recorders.
The administration of the customs assigned the slowing of the imports and exports of hi-tech products to the decline of the demand, so much that outside interior, especially for the consumption of electronic products, whose markets have been saturated.
The financial crisis and the appreciation of the Chinese currency aggravated the slowing of the exports, the administration added.
The enterprises to foreign capital constituted the first player of the plan in trade outside of the products of new technologies. In the imports, they counted on the increase for 80.3%, with 272.5 billions of dollars of 3.8%. In the exports, they counted on the increase for 85.2%, with 354 billions of dollars, of 11.1%.
The biggest supplier of hi-tech products in the continental part of China is constituted of the countries members of the association of the nations of Southeast Asia of the (ASEAN), and the three bigger destinations of the exports are the European Union, Hong Kong and the United States.
