1000 exporters of toys closed in 2008 in the Guangdong

According to the data published Saturday by the Customs of Huangpu (Guangdong, south), 922 exporters of toys of the province suspended their operations last year. They are today 2 167 against 3 089 to end 2007.

Many recalls by big marks of international toys, of which Mattel Inc., also hit the industry. The raising of the standards of security of the toys by the western countries also had a negative effect.

The world economic crisis aggravated the situation because of the decrease of the consumption and orders.
