Hangzhou polishes its UBPA design
Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, has started nonindustrial and upgrading its exhibition invent for its Urban Best Practices Area display at Expo 2010, which will showcase its water control practices.
Hangzhou s Expo assemble will team up with flagpole members of the China Academy of Art to perfect the design.
Song Jianming, vice chair of the academy, said the primary challenge is to make Hangzhou situate out amongst cities, and the joint team will pace up efforts in solving a number of technical problems to arrive the best effect.
Initiatives of the "tourism heaven" in its UBPA exhibition include a pentagonal pavilion with blue bricks that hold water collected from lakes and rivers.
Visitors will be able to discover how water flows and the tide works when they pace on especial sections of the display. A cartoon device named "Shuiwa" will lead visitors across the exhibition.
The project, "Harnessing Five Waters," involves Hangzhou s West Lake, the Qiantang River, canals, the Xixi Wetland and the East China Sea.
