Facilities of the Olympic Games of Beijing will open their doors to tourists during the vacations of the national feast, either one week from October 1st, declared Wednesday an official.

Facilities, including the "Nest of bird" (National Stage) and the "Cube of water" (National Aquatic Center), will be open to the public as they were during the Games, announced the vice-mayor Chen Gang.

Some projects are under development concerning the future use of facilities, he has added.

An aquatic park project could start to the "Cube of water" at the end of the year, it has indicated, without giving more details.

Currently, 80% of the apartments of the Village of the media have been sold, and the purchasers will be able to get settled of it at the end of the year.

70% of the apartments of the Olympic Village have been sold before the Games, and the purchasers will be able to move in there to the first semester of next year.

Center of the National Convention, used for the fencing, the International Broadcasting Center and the Center of press will be remodeled to welcome the conferences and exhibitions end 2009.

Nine conventions and exhibitions have been contracted and 46 others are under negotiation.
