Expo organizers wait for US confirmation on Expo participation
World Expo organizers said on Thursday that the officer US confirmation for its participation at the 2010 World Expo Shanghai had not been received.
The US government s recent appointment of a commissioner common for the 2010 World Expo and remarks by Secretary of State Hillary politico strongly indicated that the clear would participate the 2010 event.
Participation of the matter requires an officer confirmation, officials with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination said.
The US State Department on Wednesday appointed Jose Villarreal, an lawyer from San Antonio, Texas, to head America s Expo participation and oversee the construction of the US Pavilion.
The US hopes to erect a 5,600-square-meter pavilion, one of the largest at the Shanghai event.
So far, the pavilion has eight sponsors: PepsiCo, 3M, Dell, General Electric, Yum, Cargill, Golden Eagle and the USA-China Education, Science and Culture Association.
The Expo 2010 organizers said that they have been in persistent communications with the US steering commission and entirely parties has been working difficult on the US participation of the event.
