A bridge between Hong Kong and Macao

The construction of the bridge joining Hong Kong, Macao and Zhuhai will begin before the end of this year.

The Chinese Prime minister Wen Jiabao held these subjects at the time of the press conference at the end of the yearly session of the national popular assembly (APN, Chinese parliament), Friday in Beijing.

"I am anxious to declare on this occasion that the financial problem met by the project of construction of the bridge has been solved."

The necessary preparations are in progress intensively and the construction will start before end of year, Mr Wen indicated.

The bridge, of a budget estimated to 72.6 billions of yuan (10.6 billions of dollars) will serve important way to go against Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai and the west part of the delta of the Stream of the Pearl, one of the economically developed areas of the continental part of China.

Wen underlined that the central government would make his possible to accelerate the development of the infrastructure projects of going against the continental part of China, Hong Kong and Macau.
