51 cases of cholera in the province of Hainan
The number of case of cholera in the province of Hainan, situated to the extreme south of China, passed from 37 to 51, announced the provincial department of the public health.
The director of the department Bay Zhiqin Monday indicated to the agency Xinhua (New China) that the epidemic was always under control, 29 of the 51 patients having been healed and having left of the hospital. None new case of cholera has not been returned to Danzhou, where declared the illness, these last two days.
The physicians also confirmed the pathogenic agent of the illness, added Bay.
Experts of the Chinese Center of control and prevention of the illnesses arrived in the province in order to help towards the control of the illness.
A preliminary investigation led by the local office of the public health showed that the sharp intestinal epidemic broke out following one dinner organized in the village of Huangyu in Danzhou to the mid-October. The first case of cholera has been discovered there October 20.
The experts explained that the floodings intervening beginning October and the heat that followed were ideal conditions for the eruption of sharp the intestinal epidemics as cholera, typhoid fever and the the diarrhea.
