Dance of the dragon

The Dance of the also named Dragon to "Run with Trifles it Dragon in hands" or "Dance with Trifles it Dragon in hands" is one of the specific folk activities of China.

Her trifle-dragon is manufactured traditionally with fine gills of bamboo, silk and lanterns. The head, the body and the tail of the dragon are achieved with the gills of bamboo, then the fine and transparent silk is glued to the gills, and feel them finally, the scales and the paws are painted on silk.

The lanterns-dragons have different lengths. Normally, the shortest are in three parts and longest have more of ten of them, but essentially of the odd numbers. At the time of the dance, the dragon is accompanied by traditional musics played with drums, cymbals and a gong.

The dance of the dragon existed during the period of the Ming dynasties and Qing. She is executed usually some traditional days as the Feast of the Spring (New Year Chinese) and the one of the Mid-Fall accompanied by other activities as the firecrackers, the dances of which the one of the lion, the mimes and other games of balance.

On this day, the dance of the dragon is again an activity very practiced and the lanterns dragons came out of the country to dance all over the world.
