The councilwoman of state met Chinese Liu Yandong Thursday a Russian delegation driven by the Russian minister of the Culture Alexander Avdeyev, calling to the development of the Sino Russian cultural exchanges.

Liu Yandong made notice that the Sino Russian relations were in their best period of development and that the cultural exchanges played a very important role to strengthen the ties.

The next year mark the 60th birthday of the Sino Russian diplomatic relations and China will throw a Chinese cultural festival in Russia while another cultural activity, "the year of the Russian language" will be organized in China, according to Liu Yandong.

Mr. Avdeyev declared that Russia appreciated its cultural relations with China highly, and that Russia would provide all support necessary to the success of the Chinese cultural festival in Russia.
