China and the UNO throw a project to protect the cultures of the ethnic minorities
A project aiming to protect the cultures of the ethnic minorities, found by the organization of the United Nations (UNO) and the Chinese government, has been thrown Friday in Beijing.
The project joins, title "setting of the partnership for the Chinese culture and development", will receive 6 million dollars of funds of the UNO-Spain for the realization of the Objectives of the Millennium for the development, and 1 million of dollars of the Chinese government on the next three years, declared Khalid Malik, resident coordinator of the UNO in China.
The project will cover four provinces and regions: the Qinghai, the Yunnan, Guizhou and the the Autonomous Region of Tibet. He has for object to China to help define and to execute the policies aiming to promote the ethnic minorities, and to allow these minorities to manage their cultural resources better for the economic development, said Mr. Malik.
The project aims three domains of the ethnic development: the education, the maternal and infant health, and the use. He will sustain the development of the tourism, the arts and the handicraft based on the ethnic culture.
"The cultures of the Chinese ethnic minorities contribute to the world cultural diversity. The project is a positive attempt to develop some new tendencies for the cultures of the ethnic minorities", said Yang Jing, director of the Commission of state of the Business of ethnic China (CEAE).
The project insists on the importance of tolerance in a harmonious society and the respect for the cultural diversity, as well as the promotion of the ethnic and underprivileged groups, said Carlos Blasco Villa, the Spanish ambassador in China.
"Thanks to cooperation between China and the UNO, a lot of sectors included in the project, as the culture, the education and health, will be able to develop himself" the helper said to the Chinese minister of the Trade Qiu Hong.
The project regroups several agencies of the UN, including the Fund of the United Nations for the childhood, the Fund of the United Nations for the population, the Program of the United Nations for the development, the World Organization of Health, the international organization of work, the organization of the United Nations for the industrial development and the organization of the United Nations for the food and agriculture.
The project will imply a narrow coordination with six organs of the Chinese government: the CEAE and the ministries of the Trade, of the education, the public health, the human Resources and the Social Security, and of agriculture.
