Calabash to Locust

The calabash to locust is in general of flat and round shape. It sculpts itself of different manners. Usually, the craftsmen use two techniques: one is called ‘Sihulu’ and the other ‘Huahulu. " The first requires a calabash of beautiful shape and good quality. The sculpture is extremely fine. The topics are descended of historic anecdotes and popular legends. The other method, her ‘Huahulu’ does not have any particular requirements towards the calabash. This one is therefore less well sculpted in relation to the first: her ‘sihulu. " It is first then rudely painted in red sculpted. The calabash to locust serves, as its name indicates it, to put the locust there.
