What is the effect of communism in Chinese people’s lives and how is it so great for them,?

Question by trobop: What is the impact of communism in Chinese people’s lives and how is it so excellent for them,?
I’m not a traveler, but like i’ve heard that traveling to cuba is hard , north korea as well… But then why can chinese folks travel and do business with foreigners, and apparently also foreigners go to china.

Ok my second point is, i’ve talked to numerous chinese on the internet, and they have said that their life is fantastic and that communism is like their religion. this is from nice/everyday chinese universitty students. if it is so great, then why do a lot of countries see communism as poor, and why don’t we americans grow to be communists? is communisms much better for some chinese than for other folks, and could it be these Chinese who go to universities have a quite diverse perspective on it then doing work individuals in the lowe r class?

They all have a work.
Price controls keep rates down.
They don’t thoughts shortages, since they can’t afford them anyway.
They cannot have as well several children to help.
They reside longer than these 200 many years ago.

They don’t have to tell the truth to foreigners.

  1. China is a police state. There is no freedom of expression. You will never get an honest opinion from a Chinese because it is against the law to criticize the government. Thousands of people are in prison for doing so.

  2. I’m Chinese and have been to China many times. From what I can tell, there is practically no difference between the regular life of everyday people influenced by the government than over here in the US. I really really do not understand why so many people ‘freak out’ about communism and jump to attack it.

A couple weeks ago I posted something about why communism was bad and I got a ton of negative answers..for some reason…

As for freedom of expression, I have never never heard of any REAL person in China getting arrested. You could do anything you want and nobody would know. By all means, hold protests and signs and yell for the world to hear. No one is going to look past you twice. Expression may be what most westerners think China lacks, but if you truly traveled there today, you would see that freedom of expression exists. The government to normal, everyday people are by no means oppressive.

But, to answer your question, Chinese people in general don’t really get why communism is bad at all. Just like Americans think democracy is best, Chinese think communism is best. It is only over here that everybody hears the American’s side that communism is bad.

As for North Korea and China, in my opinion, Americans and westerners have got it all wrong. They bring out the worst possible aspects and generalizations and apply it to everything. Whenever they put pictures of life in these two countries, they always have to show the dirtiest, worst places with people that are the poorest, etc. Without fully evaluating communism and jumping to conclusions, people surely will think communism does not work. But indeed it does! Look at China, with it’s economy growing at a GDP rate of 9% — faster than any country.

Also, Chinese don’t worship communism. They just respect it, as Americans respect democracy. It is their own government and they are proud to have it–because for the most part, life in China can be very good. So, why should they have anything against it?

By the way, as people think China is entirely communist, it is also wrong. Although it does not seem like it, China IS the largest CAPITALIST nation. Free-market? Of course they have it. But then again, things have happened in the past that were terrible. Now, it has completely changed and the world needs to update their views on China.

I’m not really sure if I answered your question but I was just happy to get my view across, so thanks!

  3. Communism takes many forms. In the 1970′s in China they had the Cultural Revolution and tried to get rid of all things Western… It didn’t work. Their economy went down the toilet. Millions died. Then in the 1990′s there was the student protests and the government had to crack down on them.. Killing many. Nowadays China has given up trying to be a purely communist economy and allows for free market enterprise. The result has been an economic boom.. China still represses free discussion of politics, religion and other dissendents. The internet is closely monitored. However, the Chinese people are doing better now than they’ve every been. So to answer your question, communism varies, economies vary, and if we americans became communist that wouldn’t help our economy and we would not be any better off.
