How does the communism in China effect tourism?

Question by SAWASDEECLAP YOUR HANDS: How does the communism in China effect tourism?

Best answer:

Answer by Mr Hex Vision
When communism was in effect in China it was a closed country and hence there was no tourism from people overseas.

Nowadays although the government is communism in name it is more open and China can benefit from the money it receives from overseas tourism.

Edit: In fact communism does still have an effect in which Mao’s red books and propaganda material is being sold as tourist gifts. Who can’t resist marching through Tienanmen square wearing a red army cap ! if it wasn’t for the horrors that happen there.

  1. I think communism has not affected tourism in china

1..They have worked hard so modern china is so much advanced in technology and buildings
2..They have truly preserved their highly rich culture and historical monuments
3.. There is peace there , crimes ratio is too much low,
    ..laws are obeyed strictly .

These are some reasons for what millions of tourists visit china yearly.

  2. It is harder for those holding a U.S. passport to go to China than most other countries as a visa is required. Not only is getting a visa time consuming, it also costs money. I am in China right now and paid nearly $200 in Tokyo for my visa.

  3. If you´re referring to the type of communism as depicted by Karl Marx or those that were being practised as under Mao or Stalin, they´re long buried in the grave. China ruling system is somewhat similar to Singapore´s ie all decisions made by an authoritarian govt with no opposition allowed. It´s also similar to Brazil where the ruling party is communist.
