Fubo Hill Park - Guilin's Famous Travel Sites

The first one we visited was Fubo Hill Park. Because the mountain resembles layers of folded brocade, it has its name Fubo Hill which means Folded Brocade Hill. Though the park is a little bit small, it is very beautiful and offers breathtaking views of Guilin and the Li River. The Park’s namesake, Fubo Hill is situated right on the bank of the Li River. Like most of Guilin’s hills, the hill is filled with caves. The park area surrounding the hill is nicely landscaped. The winding paths and the sprawling banyian trees and topiaries add much beauty to the park.

There is a stair leading to the top of the hill. We tried to climb to the top to enjoy the magnificent view. On the halfway is a small pavilion which looks over the nearby neighborhoods. The weather was really hot, but there was a very nice soft wind on the hill. So we stopped for a while and cooled down. Then we continued our climb the Fubo Hill. Finnally we got to the top, and an amazing view of Guilin City and the Li River came into sight. The sky was so clear and we could see for quite a long distance. The Li River was high and magnificent. We were high enough to catch all of the mountains scattered around Guilin City. What a beautiful scenery!

After watching the impressive scenes on the top of the hill for a while, we climbed down Fubo Hill. Then we went to the caves which were wonderfully cool and had a comfortable breeze. There are several passages and some rooms in the cave. One room has been changed into a shop, hence we skipped that. Another passage leads up into the Thousand Buddha Cave. The cave opens outside and overlooks the Li River. The cave is full of hundreds of Buddhist statues since the Tang Dynasty. It is absolutely  an unforgettable experience to see something created over a thousand years ago.

Fubo Hill Park is a small park and only takes about two hours to see, but it is indeed a exquisite little park. There are something marvelous we have definetely never seen before.
