Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau are the most popular destinations for travelers from mainland China. Regional destinations, such as those you mentioned, are also very popular.
A huge number of Chinese travel to Europe and North America every year. I recently read that France receives more visitors from China than from any other country. There are so many that the Paris airport recently installed Chinese language signs in addition to its existing English, French, and German signage.

The most popular would be Singapore, one of the main reason is that Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kwan Yew actually wants Hong Kong citizens with good credentials to go to Singapore and build their foundation there. The government will grant them faster Permanent Residence status, apart from a special condition for them to migrate with their family and settle (upon meeting the requirements) in Singapore. Lee Kwan Yew is interested in pulling up talents to improve their country.
