Explore The Grand Palace Of Bangkok On Your Next Vacation

It’s not like I hate my job, in fact I really like it. But I still really look forward to taking some time off every year and loading the family up on our yearly vacation. You might go so far as to say that it’s my favorite part of the year.

That’s why I want to make sure that we have the most amazing time, every time.  Now my family always wants to do the same boring thing. It’s either the theme parks like Disney World, or the Beaches in the Bahamas or Mexico.

Don’t get me wrong, those are great vacations. But once you done them all, you don’t really want to go back!  I want something a little more exciting!  I want something that I can talk to my friends about after words for the next couple of months without boring them to tears!  I want adventure…well, as much adventure as you can have with a couple young children in tow.

In my mind, Asia is just about the most exciting place on the planet.  And with our shrinking global world, now is more important then ever for us to explore and understand Asia.

That’s why I suggest you plan your next trip to check out the Grand Palace of Bangkok.

As the name suggests, the Grand Palace is located in Bangkok Thailand.

This is a slightly odd palace by our Western way of looking at things because the King doesn’t actually live there. They just use it for ceremonial occasions and highly important things like that.

As such, you can’t really go into any of the palace’s four buildings. But you can see them from outside and let me tell you, they’re something to behold!  Ironically, the biggest building of the palace was built by the British somewhere around 1890.

The palace is a vibrant bright set of buildings.  Orange, Green, Red, and Yellow colors bombard your senses.  These are the colors of their religion, Buddhism, and the palace epitomizes them.

Of course, while you’re there you can visit many other sites that Bangkok has to offer. It no longer has that seedy reputation that it used to have. I’m sure you can still find the seedier side, but it isn’t pervasive like it used to be. So you can feel safe about bringing your kids there.

When we think Asia, we think China or Japan, but Southeast Asia has just as much, if not more to offer without the scary communism of China and the high prices and insane crowdedness of Japan.  I highly recommend you look into the entire region for your next vacation, and give a special look out for Thailand. You won’t regret it!
