What is the legend about that”Returned Pearl Cave”?

The legend about the”Returned Pearl Cave” goes like this:one day,a fisherman went into the cave and saw an old man sleep soundly there with a very big and shiny pearl by his side.Picking it up the fisherman returned home.However,some of his folks told his the pearl he picked up was perhaps the dragon pearl and this would enrage the old dragon in the sea to incur troubles.So they suggested he bring the pearl back to the old man in slumber as quickly as possibel.Hence the cave was later addressed as the “Returned Pearl Cave.”

What is that”Testing Sword Stone” about?

Lit up by the golden moring sunshine,the interior of the”Returned Pearl Cave”looks very splendid as if it were a crystal palace with superbly looking halls and things more than enough to feast eyes on.On the other side by the water there is a stone column at the mouth of the cave,which is a little more than 3-meters high hanging down from above.it is broad on the top and narrowing down gradually at the ending point,however,there is yet a few centimeters in between its ending tip and the ground.The ancient people said that this stone-column hanging down from above was very much like a pillar flating on water and looked as if it had been cut apart with a sword,hence the name of”Testing Sword Stone.”If you join the Guilin Tour,you can feel it.

Standing by the north of the city of Guilin,the piled silk hill consists of serveral peak.Called the bright moon,the main peak,towering 223 meters above sea leve,is a relatively higher peak within the city proper.Strangely shaped the piled silk hill,formed of layers upon layers of stone pieces,looks as if it were piled up with stacks of silk brocade,the name of the hill was read early in a tang prose entitled note to the piled silk hill,saying the hill forms of layers of interwoven rock pieces as though they were silk pieces of variegated colors.Hence the name of the hill.

There is a path winding up the hill,which is luxurantly shaded in green,on top of the hill there is a piled silk gazebo and carved on its left cliff-face are five chinese characters,reading convergence of picturesque landscapes,and still there is a wind cave up on the hill.it is a very strange and unique place of the hill only.All the year round there are whiffs of fresh air in the cave and you will feel a little chill even in summer days under a scorching sunshine.
