The American secretary of state Rice Condolesszza annulled its journey in China, foreseen this week, because of the climbing of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, announced Sunday the American state department.

"Because of events in the Middle East, the secretary of state Rice will not be able to go to Beijing, in China, as she had hoped for it," declared the spokesman of the department of state, Sean McCormack, in a press release .

He affirmed that the associate secretary of state John Negroponte would go to Beijing next Wednesday to participate in the activities marking the 30th birthday of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the United States and China.
